Content
The Content plugin exposes Joomla’s editorial management tools: articles, categories, tags and field values. It provides the foundation for AI-driven content work.
Each management tool requires the permission shown in the “Required permissions” column for the relevant Joomla component. Reading tools require no specific permission. The logged-in account must have the permission; otherwise, the tool will be denied.

Create, edit, search, publish and delete articles, with access to version history. Component: Articles (com_content).

create_article and update_article cover all the tabs in the Joomla editor: content, images and links, creation and publication dates, featured status, author, note, article options and metadata. Dates are expressed in ISO 8601 format; without a time zone, they are interpreted in the site's time zone.
Categories
Organise the content hierarchy. Component: Articles (com_content).
| Tool | Function | Required permissions (ACL) |
|---|---|---|
list_categories | List categories | None (read) |
get_category | Read a category (including its field values) | None (read) |
create_category | Create a category | Create — core.create |
update_category | Edit a category | Edit — core.edit |
delete_category | Delete a category | Delete — core.delete |

create_tag | Create a tag | Create — core.create |
update_tag | Edit a tag | Edit — core.edit |

Custom Fields
Enter the values of an article's or category's custom fields. Field definitions (creation, types and groups) are handled by the Custom Fields plugin. Component: Articles (com_content).
| Tool | Function | Required permissions (ACL) |
|---|---|---|
list_article_fields | List the fields applicable to articles in a category | None (read) |
list_category_fields | List the fields applicable to categories (filtered by assignment when category_id is specified) | None (read) |
reorder_article_field | Reorder a custom field among those in its context and group — any context: articles, categories, users (despite its name) | Edit state — core.edit.state |
Values are entered using the fields argument of create_article / update_article and create_category / update_category (the Create or Edit permission), and are read from the fields key of get_article / get_category. Only fields assigned to the category are applied; the others are reported as ignored. Structured values (subforms, multiple lists) must be written in the format returned when reading them, for example {"row0": {"field12": "…"}} for a subform.
Prompt examples
“Create an article called ‘Our summer opening hours’ in the News category and publish it.”

“Restore yesterday's version of the home page article.”
“Add a question to the FAQ in the Pricing category.”
Security & ACL
Actions respect Joomla's ACL: the assistant can only create, edit or delete items that your account is authorised to manage, within the permitted categories. Permanently deleting an article requires explicit confirmation (confirm=true).
