Custom Fields
The Custom Fields plugin manages Joomla custom fields: fields, groups, types and contexts.
Each management tool requires the permission shown in the “Required permissions” column for the Custom Fields component (com_fields). Read-only tools require no specific permissions.

Contexts
Find out which contexts allow fields to be created (articles, categories, users, contacts…). The values of fields are entered by the plugin that manages the item: Content for articles and categories (list_article_fields, list_category_fields), and Users for accounts (list_user_fields).
